Kanzashi Fabric Flower Workshop

Join Us for an Exciting Kanzashi Fabric Workshop and the traditional Japanese art.

In this hands-on workshop, sustainable artists Gigi Farmer and Leila Ghasempor will guide you to create your own unique Kanzashi Flowers, which can be turned into stylish accessories—perfect for purses, hats, hair ties, or brooches. All materials are provided. Basic sewing or crafting experience is recommended.

Meet Your Instructors:

Gigi Farmer is a multidisciplinary artist with a background in art history, ceramics, and textile arts from various cultural traditions. She will co-teach this beginner’s crochet class alongside Leila, bringing her diverse artistic experience to the workshop.

Leila Ghasempor is an interdisciplinary sustainable artist who studied at the Art Institute of Chicago. She is the founder of People Around Us, a platform dedicated to supporting artists and crafters. Leila also serves as the Workshops Director at FabMo, an organization focused on sustainability and the creative reuse of materials.
